Title: 86 gmc in texas
Post by: schmarl on November 16, 2014, 10:30:02 am
I'm a Texas boy working with a short wide that was bone stock when i got it in march.  Ive done a 5-5 djm drop with upper and lower a arms and drop springs with a flip kit in the back and calmax shocks all around.  Then I went to the local bad rim shop and ordered some custom Adventus avs-3 cut for the offset needed on these trucks.  I wanted some light weight wheels that no one else has and these are them  they weigh about 30lbs each.  Any input is more than welcome

Howdy and welcome from Kansas, schmarl!

Back in the day, at least in the Texas Autotraders and classifieds I read; SWB was short wide bed, SNB was short narrow bed (short stepside), LWB was long wide bed and then LNB for long narrow bed (long stepside)... That was also a time when most pickup trucks were regular cab/standard cab...

jason i was raised around the same info that swb was short wheel base or short wide bed, wasnt until i started looking for parts and doing work that when i first saw standard wheel base. and started to think about it. how can you have a short and a long but nothing in the middle? and the acronym swb is so wildly used it seamed you get a different answer every time you turn around. then you have manual trans or aka standard because they were standard equipment. but w e all know what one mean when someone says swb or short wide. tell you the truth as much as i want to say im right i dont have evidence to back it up or prove wrong. so i kind of wish someone will probe me wrong or right
