Title: What to use for a straight edge

Just got head re surfaced on 80 c10 4.1l 250 inline 6 ....need to see if my block is not warped before I put the head on any ideas was thinking construction level help me out gear head pics will come tomorro

I wouldn't trust a construction level. If that thing is off even by .002" it will give a false reading.

See if your local machine shop will let you borrow their straight edge. If not you may have to take the block to them.

^^^This.  Might be a lot of work to get the block to them for checking.

Buy your own straight edge.  Costs are reasonable and you can get different lengths.  Do a Google search for Machine Straight Edge.
