Title: K20 1980 front leaf spring question w/pics
Post by: 429p on November 18, 2014, 03:06:59 pm
Is this leaf spring worn out?  Does a new spring bow downwards, or is this the right configuration for the spring?  Occasionally, the tire hits the fender when I turn, and hit a bump, but otherwise there are no other problems.   Thanks,  Carr

Your springs may have lost some temper, but reverse arch front springs are correct.

Looking at your bumpstop you are settled about 1.5~2".

That 400# bulldozer blade on the front doesn't help.

Jason and Engineer, thanks for the replies.  Good to know that the spring is supposed to be reversed.  I consider calling my bumper a 400# bulldozer blade a compliment !  However the weight of the bumper has a price of lowering the front of the truck.  Thanks for all of the help!
