Title: HEADERS/ EXHAUST SIZE AND REDUCERS
Post by: bicent truck on November 04, 2006, 04:19:00 pm
I am looking at some nice long tube ceramic coated headers on Ebay for a 76 C10 with a 350. My question is this. I already have 2 and 1/2" stainless exhaust and alot of the headers have 3" collectors. Are they made to connect to 3" only or can a reducer to the 2 and 1/2" pipe is Ok and not present any restriction problems. Thanks

The make the reducers that make it go from 3" to 2.5". I ran the hooker headers on my 77 chevy. They have a 3" collector and i used a r educer to run it to 2.5" piping and i never had any problems with it.

I have all 3 inch stuff wiating to be installed. I am going from 3" colecter on the headers to 3" cats to 3" summit cherry bomb style muffler's to 3" pipe all the way out back.
