Title: Looking at 33" or 35" tires. Will they fit on a 2.5" lift?
Post by: jumpkickyergunt on November 30, 2014, 03:30:59 pm
I think the 33's will fit fine, but I wouldn't mind going a little bigger. I have 16x8" rims and I'm looking at 315/75 or 305/70. Would I have to do any other mods with either tire (gearing, etc.)? Its a 79 K10. Thanks.

I put a set of 35x12.50R16.5 tires mounted on 16.5" x 9.25" rims on my M1028 (K30) with a 2" lift and they did not clear the front fenders when turning.

Buddy has 2.5in. lift and runs stock steel wheels with hummer tires (36in.) no problems.

Stock lift here. No rubbing on 33x12.5 on 15x10 wheels. only a liiitttle when i'm flexing quite a bit with the wheel turned. Even then, not bad. I had 35s and i just rubbed when turning.

Also, true diameter varies. I.e. a General grabber 35" is a true 35.0". I also had a yohokama geolander mt and its true diameter was 34.4". May not seem like much, but it might be the difference of a little rub on turns or not.
