Title: Floord Dimmer and Steering column hazard switch relocate - Easy or hard?
Post by: WhtWlf80120 on November 30, 2014, 08:25:17 pm
Vehicle: '81 Chevy C20 Standard Cab, 4Speed Transmission

Having issues with both the floor dimmer switch, and the steering column hazard switch.

Been thinking on putting both on a toggle switch. Did not know if someone else has attempted this or not?

Basically I know the floor switch is a 3-wire set up, so the idea on putting a toggle switch should work.

Anyone who has done it, if you could enlighten me, Thanks in advance.

Way Easier to just replace the switches with what is already there

The hazard switch is about $25 and isn't hard to replace
Although you do have to pull the steering wheel

Dimmer switch is just two screws

I haven't ever done that.  I usually just fix what is broken.

i had trouble with my dimmer switch aswell and just replaced it with a spare i had lying around. or you can get a new one from an auto parts store pretty cheap.

and its a 5 minute fix
