Finally starting my truck build. Old frame was cracked. Got a new frame. Going to beef it up as much as possible.
The 454 is getting tired and for my purposes I would really like a diesel so ive been looking into a cummins 6bt swap.
Here is where Im at so far. Cut and lifted the dump bed off the frame. I am loving my shop crane right now.

I thought I responded this thread. Why was my comment deleted?

I wouldn't trade my Cummins for a pair of big blocks........order a good set of motor mounts and get after it.

these are the ones i have. they incorporate the gm "clam shell" motor mount i know its a bad picture. they are simple to make, if needed im sure i could make some and they wont be near $260. but i also have the breadbox adapter so my engine is slightly "clocked"

Thanks Irish. I will have to take you up on that offer. I wouldn't know how to make my own without having some to look at. which would kind of defeat the purpose :)
-
how soon do you need them?
-
Take your time Irish. ive got a lot of work to do still. I would really like to box and reinforce the frame. That is going to take me a while. whenever you get around to it let me know.

ok i plan on pulling the cummins soon to put in the crew cab. just waiting on the Diesel Alternator Tachometer Interface i ordered for my tcu. just got a alt shop to make my alt give a ground signal for a tach. hopefully ill be close within a couple weeks want to paint my frame while im working on it all also lol
-
Just got my alternator from the shop. Cost for the tach part was 25 he also replace the bearings for 30. So now I got to get busy, but you said you could make the motor mount if I drew them up like a blue print you could make it? I think part of is it bent so you might need a brake

A decent set of plans would probably be all I need. Im pretty good friends with the local welder ;D Once I get the cummins in the shop and some plans from you I don't see how it could be that hard. The motor mounts may be the easiest thing I have to fabricate for this entire build.
