I bought some hedman headers (#HED-69092). When I went to install them, they wouldn't fit. It seems that the hard fuel lines were in the way(on the passenger side). Is this usually the case? I am planning to buy some rubber fuel hose and move the lines over a bit to clear the headers. My truck is a 1986 c10 (2wd) and I believe that is what the headers were made for. Are there some other headers that fit better? The headers that are on there now are from a newer model truck (1996) and they fit, but were dented and smashed to fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edited by: team39763 at: 2/16/07 9:20 pm

Believe it or not the shorty headers that fit 88 up models fit awesome and are really good as far as being leak proof. The only thing is you will need to plug the O2 bung and grind a tiny amount around that area so it won't contact the frame when the engine twists. I just put a set on this 86 K10

Thanks bro. I'll keep those in mind. I was really set on using longtube headers, but I just might go with a set of those shorties.
