I have an 84 scottsdale k10 305 4 bbl. 4spd manual
Choke won't go off. Just drove it 1100 km at 100 kph (60mph) .
The light went out for 10 minutes in the 3hrs into the trip, I had to shut off truck to refuel. WHen restarted the light and I assume the choke stayed on rest of the trip. The kicker is as long as the choke light was on the gas guage never worked nut for those few minutes the choke was off the fuel guage worked. I am no electrical genius so I don't know what to check. I think it's a ground but could it be a short? Ideas please.

Do you mean the choke light stayed on? If that is the case either you have low oil pressure or the pressure switch is bad (or the wire/connector is bad). Once oil pressure builds it should "make" the oil pressure switch, turning the dash light off and supplying voltage to the electric choke. You should have a two prong connector on a switch near your oil filter. No continuity with the engine off, and continuity when the engine is running.

Yes, the light stayed on. Same time as fuel guage stopped working (reading of over full)
For a couple minutes : light was out and fuel guage registered correctly ( reason I was thinking the issues were connected).
Then back to first scenario.

I will check for that connector :)
