Title: looking to learn about GM's, LS and C10's in general
Post by: kowboydmac on December 09, 2014, 09:17:28 am
Hey everyone,

Signed up here looking to learn more about C10's and possibly an LS swap. Reason is my dad has shown interest in a project truck for him and I to work on during his retirement years.

I'm obviously using Google and the internet, but can anyone recommend some literature and/or videos primarily focused on C10's? I personally own a 1997 jeep grand cheroke and a 1990 Nissan 300zx, but had a 1974 nova as my first car (I'm 27 though, so it was pretty old by the time I got it lol)

Thanks and hope to start this build soon!

Welcome to the site.  There is a LS section on the forum.  I have documented pretty much the whole swap process in my truck.  If you want to know something specific post there and we will be glad to help.

For reading I would look at lt1swap.com for internet and Chevy LS Engine Conversion Handbook - Shawn Henderson and How to Build High-Performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V-8s - Will Handzel

Hey tried to reply and say thanks for the replies. Hope this one goes through. Will order those ls books asap :)

Any books on C10 trucks exclusively? I ordered an   catalog just to get an idea of body panels and such.  Would like to know the history and options of 73-87 GM trucks; which motors, transmissions, rear ends, body parts prone to rust, brake options, etc.

All of that info can be found here.  All the GM manuals are in the tech section.
