could 305 manifolds on a 350 with maybe a a bigger cam cause spark knock
I have a mstery meat 350 that has the old 305 exhaust set up on still and its perfered timing is like 1 or 2 derges atdc before it starts to cause issues and any thing before tdc and it a worth less turd

"Mystery meat" 350. Could it be a high compression motor? I believe the exhaust manifolds are the same.Did you check the timing with the vacuum advance hose diconnected from the distributor and plugged?
What level octane you running?Try super and see what happens. Edited by: 123 pugsy at: 7/15/06 8:02 pm

the minifold will bolt up the same but a 305 manifold will run over the top and cruch the oil dip stick into the block
also the opening on the 350 manifold are larger and i thhink the y pipe is larger to comprestion wouldnt suprise me all that much but it dost spark nock till its been run for a while

The exhaust size for 305 vs 350 on a stock motor is the same, 2.25". Exhaust port on the 305 manifold I have see are the same as a 350 also. SOME 305 manifolds had the last bolt on it further than a 350.

I would bet money that your Mystery Meat 350 is a rebuilt 350 with flat top pistons and rebuilt 305 heads with the goofy 58 cc chambers, compression to the moon with that, like 12 to 1.
