New and old

Only took me 3 hours to complete the removal and installation of my transfer case np205

Old, possible water intrusion causing rust and weakness or lack of care or abuse from previous owner, guessing you bought truck used. Maybe just was weak and finally went out.
-
I actually bought the transfercase used the 203 was at the end of its useful life. The 205 was out of an 80 blazer miles unknown i also eliminated the slipyoke about a year ago.
