Is the engine installed in that pic?  The rear looks low already.

No motor was out in that pic

I really like the pulley system on the engine.  That has to make it easier to work on/change belts. I need to replace the A/C drive belt on mine and suddenly realized that I need to remove all the belts to do so.  Once I dig into it and get the belts off I am going to replace the water pump. It makes a little noise.

The motor being out could be throwing it off but the rear looks dropped some now.  It looks like about a 4" drop.  Does it appear stock?

Yes it's all stock , just the angle of pic makes it look low. I'm wanting to just get a 4/6 kit hoping I can find one in $500 range

CPP has a spindle and shackle drop package. Not sure how much you've done with the suspension already, but for a full suspension package and lowering it, under $1000 is pretty good.

Ya thats what I was thinking. I couldnt find a full kit on jegs for my model? Maybe Ill look a little harder. Im also getting a new carb any suggestions on best carb for 350 with mild cam? Thanks
Title: Re: My build
Post by: Captkaos on December 23, 2014, 10:33:37 am
Use the same PN from Belltech in the other companies sites.  You can probably google search it too...
What carb is on it now and what do you mean mild?  Nothing more than 600cfm is required on any mild motor unless you plan to turn it above 5500 rpms
I personally only use Quadrajets.

I think the part no. is belltech 707SP for the 4/6 kit. I found it on jegs but it dosent say 4in front 6in back? Ill just have to call and ask em. The carb now is holley 750. I think its too much for it. Im gonna look at Quadrajets.. Thanks for help

670 is still way too big.   the formula for figuring out what size carb is take the Max engine rpm * engine size / 3456= carb size so lets take your 350 thats pretty much stock ant lets say you want to turn 5000 rpms *  350 / 3456=506cfm.

I think it's gonna work out ok , motor has lunati solid lift cam, 202 heads and a .30 over 350 flat top pistons 4 bolt main. The carb that I took off was a 750 double pumper jetted to a 850. This carb now is a single pumper. Get this last night my neighbor kid got a 82 c10 and looks just like mine now we have 2 beast revving up all night

Hey I'm fixing to order lowering kit, how do I measure the rotor size? Just the thickness of rotor? Thanks
Title: Re: My build
Post by: 78BIG-TEN on December 26, 2014, 05:09:39 pm
For drop spindles you need to know if they are 1 inch wide or 1 1\4
Title: Re: My build
Post by: Captkaos on December 27, 2014, 12:11:47 pm
Measure the width of the rotor and post the dimensions

It's 1" thick. But now I have new problems, I'm having worst luck with power steering leak it keeps spraying out of the line where it's attached to steering box happened three times now. I'm gonna have to get a new hose I think.

Removing the bed will make it easier.  What kind of kit did you get for the rear?

how many leafs in the pack?  If 5 you can remove it.  If 3, I wouldn't recommend removing it without replacing it.

You need to drive it around and let it settle some before you start changing things.  4/6 should put the truck about level

Thanks, I've drove it about 50miles since I've lowered it just thought they would of settled by now?
I have a vibration problem I've been trying to fix now.
Title: Re: My build
Post by: JoshsC10 on January 14, 2015, 09:19:49 pm
Well new problems now, I've taken the bed off again to fix my rear end (bad vibration) and the frame is getting into the shocks real bad , dented them in a tiny bit. Should I get a shock relocation kit?? Anyone else have one of these belltech kits that may have had similar problems. Thanks
Title: Re: My build
Post by: JoshsC10 on January 14, 2015, 09:29:20 pm
There called rear shock extenders not relocators
Title: Re: My build
Post by: Captkaos on January 15, 2015, 10:09:41 pm
If you got a flip kit you need shock extenders so the shocks won't bottom out.  They should work without them though.  How long is your shock bracket?
Title: Re: My build
Post by: JoshsC10 on January 16, 2015, 08:15:24 am
Im not sure its just the stock one, I talked to belltech and they said its because I removed the overload spring? Do u think that would make it that much lower without that leaf, to cause it to hit?? Thanks really appreciate all the help.

Is the rear flipped.  If so the overload doesn't make a difference...
I would put shock extenders on the axle you shock angle is really steep in that picture.
Title: Re: My build
Post by: JoshsC10 on February 09, 2015, 01:47:13 pm
I put on some shock extenders and it helped the frame hitting the shocks but I'm getting into the notch with rearend. Im ordering new leaf springs today from General springs it's just too low in the rear. I also put some new borla xr1 mufflers on sounds awesome. And picking up my roll pan also.
