Hate to give up the stick shift, good power, but the clutch is no longer my friend...... bad knees and getting older, I find I need a automatic. I have a 1988 C2500 with a good TH700R4 in it,( good low mileage running gear just bad body). Has anyone done this swap before?

i blew out my knee when i was 17 or so, when i drive my 79 (sm465) it bothers me and my knee starts shaking if i have to hold the clutch in long. so i feel your pain, im looking for the swap if i can find one ill post it

Pretty straight forward swap. See if your radiator is already setup for a transmission cooler. If you are making it column shift you'll need the linkage, column etc. Driveshaft length will be different.

wonder if you could use a brake MC and a hydroboost or a vacuum booster
To reduce the pedal effort to almost zero ??
Alot of big trucks have a air assist on the clutch
