Title: What rear end to use?
Post by: dylan.hodges.92 on December 25, 2014, 02:21:06 pm
I plan on doing a complete suspension swap on my k10 dana 60 front all spring 3/4 ton 6" lift but can't decide on a rear end. What is the toughest rear end? I tend to be a little hard on my trucks. But I love the truck and don't want to keep replacing/rebuilding rear ends.

The full floating GM 14-bolt that came factory on the 73-87  3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks is about as stout as they come...

81-87 C/K 20's came with semi-float, still a good rear end but the full-float is stronger.  6.2L diesel and 7.4L 81-87 had the full float, the rest had the smaller unless it was a high GVW 8600 or higher
