Title: Small vibration
Post by: ackland3 on December 28, 2014, 12:54:06 am
Does anyone else get a bit of a rumble between 30-35? Mine happens just on this one hill in town and occasionally other places. I just did front wheel bearing and no play there at all triple checked them waiting on a shop to call me back on monday see if they'd charge to drive it and see if i'm being overly paranoid or not though. Just got a new tranny and new u joints up front tranny shop didn't say anything about the rear and they seem fine....

Just jacked it up and found quite a bit of play in the drivers side rear axle. I don't suppose anyone has heard of a C clip getting worn and if so should i put in the .150 or the .155 makes a noise as the wheel turns on that side as well and it moves when jacked up i can watch it from the drivers seat.

in and out play or up and down play.  The C clips aren't tight, they just drop in.

In and out shouldn't cause a vibration.  Is this 4x4?

Your driveshaft may be unbalanced. The fix could be as easy as clocking your whole shaft or the yokes.

Good luck

It's a 4x4 we hauled it back home and looked at all the bearings motor mounts etc. and everthing seems to be in order my uncle said it could be the new transmission shifting?
