I have a sensor in the passenger side head is that water temp or oil temp.

Cylinder head sensors are water temperature

Has the motor ever been worked on? Generally water temp sensors are in the left head not the right.

That's what I thought but its in the right side

On my trucks at least, those control the auxiliary fan.

Edit, and they are impossible to find if you break them. I had to install an aftermarket electric cooling fan controller when I replaced mine.
