Title: Why two oil sensors?

This has probably been discussed before, but why are there two oil senders on my 305?   One is near the distributor which is one prong and another near the oil filter which is two pronged?

Oil Pressure & Oil Light most likely.

One is for the gage or idiot light, and one is a pressure switch for the electric choke.

What year?  There might be two just like there's two coolant sensors. One for the ecm the other for the gauge/light. Don't think I ever seen a truck with a idiot light and gauge. Most time if you have gauges you will have a check engine light go on if something is reading high. Like before you start the truck you have a cel light.

But if memory is right the one up on the distributor is for the gauge the one by the filter is ecm. Think we talked on here about the difference in a sensor and switch. Most time there's too much confusion and they are called the same thing.

One is for the choke, the other for the gauge, or light which ever you have.
