Title: Looking for a DXF file maker
Post by: Irish_Alley on January 06, 2015, 04:59:36 pm
we're thinking about getting a plasma table at the shop  that will come with a program to make them. but till then i want to familiarize myself with the system and save money but making our own DXF files. right now we have to pay someone to make the dfx files so if i can make them and save that would be good.
but didnt know if anyone else has anything they are trying or using

There is a free alternative to AutoCAD called DraftSight put out by Dassault. It has the same steep learning curve as Acad but worth trying out.

we just got a used vicon 8000 table. still learning with the program they use, but still looking for something that a little more user friendly. i know i taught myself with photoshop but the cad deal is a little more challenging. must add dont go vicon or at least a used vicon. if you have ANY problems they will tell you "in order to talk you have to pay a $1000/yr technical support fee"
