Post by: jumbowolfe on January 06, 2015, 07:51:12 pm
I'm a big fan of the canary yellow Chevys!  Post a pic if you have one or have pictures of Yellers.  Here's mine photoshopped to how it WILL look hopefully by summer.

All the yellow 73-87's have a special place in my heart.  Love the shots, keep posting them....

Here's my original that Dad and I owned from 78-89, and I have regretted selling it since 1989.  I looked for my current one for nearly 15 years until I found the exact match to it last summer (well minus the current crème stripe).  Dad and I took a trip cross country from Dallas to LA in 1979 in that old truck.  We camped out of the back of it in New Mexico, drove across the four corners, drove down the Vegas strip, until we finally got to our destination.  My Dad and I still talk about that trip.  Needless to say, getting a truck just like it back has been a huge bucket list item.  When Dad saw 2.0 in the driveway recently, we both broke down because all those old memories got brought back. What is it about trucks that are so special?  People can own muscle cars, rare auto's from the 50's, but when you involve a boy and his Dad and a truck, there ain't nothing like it.

Anyway, here's Yeller 1.0.

i think yellow is a good color, although i've never really had one.

When i went to the auto show 3 yrs ago, The dodge superbee (as a truck) seemed like it was attracting the most attention of vehicle at the show.  This includes corvettes, camaros etc.

dont have any pictures but my first truck was a 89 gmc 1500 4x2 swb. it was an old county truck and when they some it they gave her a nice coat of yellow over everything mirrors and bumpers. my cousin drove it in high school then our senior year i got it from him think $600 didnt even have my license lol but i drove her around town till the cop stopped by in my front yard looking for her. i kept her at a shop up the road so it was more of a show of force and i took the hint. so then i got a t tag and my license and drover her for a little bit till the 4.3 started knocking

When I had 1.0 in High School, I got so much grief over having a yellow truck.  "When you gonna paint it?"  It wore me out.  Then it just became "rebelish" to me to constantly tell people to F off when they said something about my yellow truck.

I just always thought the lines of a box era Chevy with yellow just looked killer in yellow. I've seen a red one restored on google images that looks outstanding as well.

I have had people ask me if I bought it that way? I tell them no. One guy replied, " you did that on purpose? " Yup, I did!
