Title: Backspace
Post by: Scarface on January 16, 2015, 01:33:27 pm
I am going to order wheels next month and I need to make sure on the backspacing.  1979 C10 short wide bed dropped 6 inch front and 8 in the back.  I am wanting to run a 15x8 on the back with a 275/60r15.  What backspace do I need to run so this will clear?

Thanks

I purchased american torque thrust 8" rims for my truck and they have a 3.79" back spacing.  The wheel looks very nice, but it sticks our slightly more then my rally wheels did. I personally think it looks good.  One thing to note is that I had to trim the bottom of my A arms to get them to fit.  Originally I was looking at Coys and they suggested 4.5" back spacing.  That tucks the wheel in quite a bit, but again personal choice.  Whatever you get, I highly suggest you test fit the fronts to make sure they fit before you bring them to the tire shop to mount them and find out they don't go on.  Different brands may not require trimming, but the AR TT required quite a bit to make them fit.
