dont know to tell you the truth. the only places i have been able to find the backing plates is off other axles.
-
yeah ive searched pretty intensly for new ones - mine arent rusted or anything but probably the pads that the shoes rest on are worn being this a 40 year old truck .
-
wheni changed mine out it was cause i changed axles and the axles i used were a step down in pad size so i changed them to keep the same pads

Have the shoes really worn the backing plates to the point that they need replacing? Other than age, is there any other reason that you're wanting to change the backing plates?

no other reason than just the wear from the shoes -they arent flush yet but they def look worn

Unless they are worn through I wouldn't worry about replacing them. Post a pic.
