Title: tight lifter
Post by: dieselman123 on February 02, 2015, 04:59:22 pm
Hey guys I've got a problem. I just started assembling the top end of my sbc 355. As I was installing the lifters they seemed tight. Tight enough to were I had to use more pressure than I wanted too to get them started in the bore. That's a little too tight for comfort. I have not tried spinning the lifter yet to see if it spins. I used assembly lube on lifter before installing took the new lifter out and Notice that little fine scratches on the wall of the lifter. What is the best way the hone the lifter bore or debur without taking everything back apart. I also installed the head and really don't want to take them back off. Please help

Make sure you have the correct lifters, mic them and compare to the old. check for burrs.
