87 2wd 1/2 ton:
This truck has had a lean on the drivers side for some time, I thought it was my fat :( until I pulled the lower ball joint out and found that 1/2 of the coil at the lower control arm is broken
How do you break a coil spring?????
I have another set of springs that are 2 coils shorter that I used once trying to lower the truck, but it bottomed out on every bump. I still had stock shocks on though and they could have been bottoming out
Do they sell like 2" shorter shocks for lowered trucks?

yes they do. they are called drop shocks and pretty easy to come by
my sisters malibu and my buddies miata both had broken coil springs when they were purchased. before that i had never even heard of it

I see broken coils all the time in the shop. Very common on 90/2000s GM front wheel drive cars.
