So my column can't be tightened any more...it was used as a way for farmhands to pull themselves into the truck for too long, and it's done. Will a non-tilt column swap in without issue? If so, is there a year-span that will work? (mine is an 87, a/t, with the cruise/windshield wiper/delay on the turn signal lever). Barring that, does anyone sell a replacement knuckle? The price of columns is pretty prohibitive, even for scrap-yards, so...

I believe '84 and up will work, before that year wipers and high beams were not on the column. I think it's '84..... someone else may know better

When you say it won't tighten any more... do you mean the all threads are stripped? Have you torn into it deep enough to check the 3 torks head screws behind the tilt knuckle? If not, I would do that first before going through all the hassle of replacing an entire column.
This video shows where the screws are and how to get to them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsIWG-hRfy0

Yeah, only two of the torx screws will tighten. I actually had a shop (good mechanic) do it for me, and he's done this quite a bit (including his own 86 Suburban), and he pronounced it DOA.

Yeah, we did that, but it still remains loose-just up and down now, but still not right.
