Title: Mounting Gauges in ashtray
Post by: Nj1986k10 on February 10, 2015, 06:32:27 pm: I want to install a tach in my ashtray on my k10. Is it possible? Has anyone done it?

Post by: Irish_Alley on February 11, 2015, 12:01:02 am: imo it would be out of place. meaning if your racing or whatever and need a tach you have to look to your right and down to see it. this is why most people mount them near the other gauges. i just snagged a tach for the stock cluster on ebay for 150

Or he could pour ketsup in it to dip his fries in while he motors along, wondering how many RPMs his engine is running.

It doesn't bother me as long as it is in a sealed container where it can't spill or be smelt. Using an ashtray is just........DISGUSTING.

And as an update GPS can pretty much do what that gauge can do.
