Title: New coil springs

I bought a set of new coil springs from a spring shop. The new springs are the same height as the old ones, The diameter of the spring steel is the same, same number of coils
I put the spring in with the end of the coil against the stop on the stock lower control arm and the truck now sits about the same height as a blazer and rides as stiff as a 10 ton truck,....WTH????

I hate doing things twice: I dont think I can even cut a coil out because of the bend on the last coil?

this a 4x4 or 4x2? the springs will settle after some ride/weight time. i left one of my trucks un jack stands for a week once i put her back on the ground she sat a bit higher for a little while

This is an 87    1/2 ton  2wd  that is completely stock.


It is actually sits higher in the front than the rear now

I believe there is a pocket at the top end for the spring to center in,make sure its not on top of the pocket.If all is good just let them settle in

Yes there is a pocket that the spring need to be in to seat properly , there is also a stop on the lower control arm. I did not have it in that pocket the first time, so I did it again after work today
getting it in that pocket made a 1" difference in the height between the top of the tire and the fender well. I am at 32" from the ground to the same spot on the fender well
