Title: Finally on the road
Post by: DLC on February 17, 2015, 08:29:10 pm
It's been a long year and two months but the truck is finally running and driving. It started out as a 74 GMC with a 250 c.i. 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual trans. The cab and front end were very rusty so an 85 cab and front end was sourced. Also sourced a 98 L31 Vortec engine with turbo 350 trans. Most everything on the truck has been rebuilt. 3" dropped spindles along with 2" drop springs were used in the front and a flip kit for the rear which ended up lowering the rear around 6". Anyway, it still needs paint and a few loose ends but here it is in all it's glory :-)

Here's what we started with:

Nice! Hopefully it helps motivate a few of us who are stuck on a plateau.

I would be tempted to buff the whole thing out and leave it...
Looks good!

Lol, I've actually been considering that. I've had several people tell me the same thing. It would lose it's personality if I painted it.
