So I recently bought a Chevy K20. Well the cab is an 82 but the frame/chassis/drivetrain are not. I looked up the casting number on the engine block and its a 75. I assume the rest of the truck is similar year but I'm not 100% sure. The rear axle is a corporate 10.5" 14 bolt and the front axle is a Dana 44 with big hubs that bolt on. Transmission is SM465 with a 205 transfer case.
Anybody know sure way to tell what year my frame is?
I guess what I am getting to is that I want to remove the aftermarket 6" lift springs that are on it and go with stock springs and need to know what year I have when looking for springs.
Thanks for any help. I can post pictures as soon as I figure it out.

If you think it's around a 75, look on top of the frame rail next to the steering box. Scrape it down good and read the vin #

All 73~87(91) 4x4s used the same front spring mount dimensions.
Only difference is the capacity and they'll all interchange.
Choose the ones you want and order away. Don't worry about year.
