Title: Dash Pad
Post by: millerh on March 22, 2015, 08:42:49 pm
I am the proud new owner on an 85 C10.  The truck is all stock and in need of all the usual replacements.  I am wondering what companies are making the best dash pad replacements?  Also looking for carpet, door panels, a/c vents just to get started.

thanks in advance.

Congrats on the new family member.  ;D   truck has good quality stuff but is expensive. I know the replacement dash pad is over 300 bucks. If yours is not too bad you could take it to an good upholstery  shop and have them to redo it. As for everything else it's expensive but affordable.

lmao dont let her read that. she might take it as your super stoked about your truck but not so much about her. then the jealousy will really kick in, and she be asking why do you spend more time with your truck than me

Then 4 trucks later you are sleeping in one of them

So better get a crew cab or extended cab so you can just have a bed made up all the time

Better listen to Zieg and Irish, voice of experience haha. My gf already thinks I spend to much on my truck, I don't know what she'll do when I get a suburban or blazer.

im lucky my wife lets me play with my trucks as long as there's a "reasonable" reason. like the crew cab its a family truck, so ideally a family truck wouldnt be lifted BUT if it has to be lifted to clear the transmission or make room for the driveshafts cause you had to move the transmission back then thats ok

Yet mine hasn't figured out that a couple grand here and there is still cheaper than a new truck.

Here's what worked for me.  Hang out in the house for a couple days "helping her"  you'll drive her so nuts she'll kick you out to the garage.
