Title: 86 c10 350 gas gauge
Post by: brokejoke on March 26, 2015, 11:18:17 am
I just bought a 86 c10 silveradoe and a few of the gauges dont work.  The main one Is the gas gauge. It has duel tanks and I filled both up and the gauge will only read bout 1/2 full. When I switch from tank to tank the gauge moves. It also reads correctly once it burns down to half a tank. Both tanks react the same. What could be the problem

The sending units (one in each tank) could be bad.  and the fuel selector valve. The valve is located next to the right tank. Should be mounted on the frame. More than likely its the selector valve.
