Hey guys love the site, I've learned a lot of stuff on here, awesome place for information on these trucks. I've been restoring a 80 c10 for the last year and finally really starting come together, it's got a 350 in it with long tube headers and just picked up a flowmaster universal dual exhaust kit. when I installed the headers the drivers side is like 6-8 inches from the trans crossmember and almost dead center of the collector and gunna have to get the pipe bent. Was wondering if should I run the exhaust pipe under or over the crossmember?
Just wondering what most guys have been doing.
Thanks

Does that imply that 4wd pickup cross members that support the transmission don't interfere with the exhaust like the 2wd cross members do? If so, does that also mean that same cross member from a 4wd can't be used on a 2wd?

I recently began installing exhaust on my '77 and had the same issue with my headers. I decided to go over the crossmember, had a local exhaust shop bend up some pipe after mocking it up with 2 turndowns and explaining where the mock up sat and he simply said "gotcha, give me a minute" and bent up a pipe for me that ended up fitting perfectly.

The crossmember for 4wd is also in the way he just hasn't developed a crossmember for them yet. Here is my crossmember installed. Gives plenty of room for 3in pipes straight out the back. Not sure if I can do this but here's a link to the facebook of the guy who makes those crossmembers, he has some posts with installed pictures and how they're made as well as some other stuff he does. https://www.facebook.com/Scorpionfabrication?ref=profile. It's a great product, quality welds, shipped quick with tracking. I bought mine directly from him on facebook but buying from this site has always been great too. Tell him Ryan Ball sent you if you talk to him.
