the time has come that i have to replace my 350 in my 85 k10. the 350 thats in there now is a 10066036 goodwrench crate. the numbers i see through searches have this motor around 250hp/350ft. that im not sure of, but what ive been seeing and know from driving it, it was probably better than a lot of choked 70s and 80s motors out there.
i'm just trying to obtain the best replacement i can get. any ideas? any vehicles to start looking at for donors? i just dont what to end up with something like a 110hp 350, etc. as a comparison, what were the typical numbers from a stock 305/350 from an 85ish k10?

Are you looking for used or new?
The motor you have now is about $1500 for a new one. Not a bad deal.
-
That might be a possibility. Who carries them?

JEGS, Summit. JEGS right now is $1510 with free shipping.

Rich Weyand has a proven game plan to get this $1500 motor to make some good power for cheap money.
I'm sure he can point you in the right direction.

The $1500 replacement Goodwrench we're talking about is probably the one I got. It spec's 260 HP.. I bought one off Ebay but it was through Jegs. Lift gate service was extra $$ so unless you have a loading dock it was an extra $80. We put it in a friend's '84 C10 in replacement of a 4.3 V6 and it worked excellent with the exceptions of modifying the fan shroud.
Where did you find the numbers on your Goodwrench engine? Is there any way to tell what year it was manufactured and the specs on it? I have an '86 C10 with one of these in it and I'd just like to know how to tell what kind of build it is and where to find the numbers.
Thanks. My engine pic attached.

Below, is the link to when I was researching mine. You may be able to pull up your year on yours. Unfortunately, the most my casting number told me was "86 and up".
