On projects I had in the past I could always find 15 x 8 rally wheels fairly cheap. Of course this was before eBay, craigslist and cash for clunkers. My current truck had 7" rally wheels with 225/75/15 tires that just don't look good to me. The truck isn't even on the road and I have been searching daily for 8" wheels.
EBay? $400 a set w/out tires that need redone or so far away the shipping cost is too much. I finally found a set locally for $400.00 with like new 235/75/15 tires. After several hours of sanding and painting I finally have decent wheels on my non running truck! Of course I'm already planning on 275/60/15s on the wheels and the correct paint color. I was in a rush and sprayed them with rustoleum wheel paint which is too bright.
Maybe now I can concentrate on the engine swap.

For some things, that's about par for the course nowadays. Still, it sounds like you got a pretty good deal - especially having almost new tires.
15 years ago, I could walk into a Chevrolet parts department and get doors, horn buttons, rubber mats, a/c lines, etc. Salvage yards were full of 70's and 80's GM trucks and the 88-up trucks were the normal daily drivers...

I am converting to the regular steel rims and hubcaps. Therefore, i will be selling 4 rally rims, trim rings and center caps pretty cheap. Probably craigslist. All original GM. Not sure what they are all worth, but i'll list cheap.
