Title: Carburetor questions
Post by: sonoftucson on April 25, 2015, 08:30:48 am
1986 C10...305..was driving it yesterday got it to about 60 (testing new brakes)  and it started to slow down dramatically. Managed to get it home but would stall when stopped. Was idling high before I took it out. Found a vacuum hose was off, and this thing (picture) unplugged. Insight where this connects too ? Can't find the mate . thank you.

I have a Rochester carb...but not certain if its a 1ME/MEF or M4MC/M4ME....how to tell the difference, i cant find part no. ? if there's a link or an info page some one can suggest that'd be greatly appreciated. Its frustrating to search through the nonsense on google.

Try this (http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/techinfo/7387CKMans//Service/X8632_1986_GMC_Light_Duty_Truck_CK_G_P_10_to_30_Service_Manual.pdf#page=722)
this is the 1MEF it should be on your truck. if you scroll down you will also see how to trouble shoot it
