Title: 1977 2wd 350 oil pan removal
Post by: jg1977c20 on May 04, 2015, 05:57:25 pm
so i have a 1977 c20 cheyenne with a 350  (2wd)   it looks like theres a ton of room there to drop the oil pan without lifting the motor -does that sound right ?

my 77 c10 looks the same way. but im pretty sure the pan wouldnt clear the oil pump/pickup without raising the engine a little bit.

on a side note i assume you are planning to replace the pan gasket. i recommend a one piece Felpro. its the one i went with after quite a bit of researching. it even came with those little clip things to hold the gasket and pan in place

Dropping the pan is super easy - you don't have to raise nuthin'.

+1 on the 1-piece pan gasket.

awesome - a couple of people said the same and looking under there it seemed it would come out without raising the motor  and yes i will go for the 1 piece gasket - thats a good note - last oil pan gasket i did was on a 77 olds  of course i had to lift the motor on that one and the multi piece gasket was a pain  glad they came out with the 1 piece since .
