Title: Dashpad Removal, how to??
Post by: philo_beddoe on May 07, 2015, 08:06:56 am
Can someone please list a few basic steps on how to remove the dashpad on a 77 c-10?  Also, how are the aftermarket ones, they are all a little pricy. classic ind., classic parts, etc... any advice?

Getting ready to replace mine.  Thanks!!

Dashpad is about 8-10 screws below the lower lip. You'll have to remove the bezel and then it just slides out.

There is also the vent hose above the glove-box you'll want yo reach under and disconnect.

Be gentle pulling it out, particularly around the passenger-side area. I broke a couple of the plastic shafts that hold the molding/vents onto the front of the pad trying to lift-up/pry the pad out. Of course, I was having an impossible time pulling it out because for some reason there was little screw that had been screwed up into the bottom of the pad and was snagging on the far-right clip hole.
