No pattern, once I finally connect there are not a bunch of folks on.  Other web pages are no problem.  This is an old laptop and slower than most but this site seems to be the only one that is really a problem.  I see it at home too on a fairly new Windows 7 desktop.  Just wanted to bring it up.

Just had major trouble getting on again, been trying for about an hour.  This time when it finally connected there was 300 guest users and 29 members on it.  I did a disk cleanup and defrag so I know it isn't me...

Anyone still experiencing these issues.  I think I have figured it out, but I see issues on my end at times.
Eventually I will have to plan for a weekend to migrate the database to cure all if it is still happening.   Please let me know by email or replying here.

i just some major lag. dont know if it was my isp or the site. it seamed others sites wernt affected

I am planning on setting a maint window to take the forum down to migrate the database over to the new server.  I will post here when it happens.  This should fix the issue.
