my 87 has the Turbo 400. the tranny fluid is dark red. i changed it few months ago. i put Super Tech in it and some Lucas stop-slip. so do ya'll think that the Lucas altered the color. i put it in there because it was slipping a little. but is any of ya'lls fluid dark red or pink like it should be. i was going to change it again and put aamco tranny fluid in it and use Seafoam Trans Tune. what do ya'll think? by the way, people say be wary of that transmission additive stuff. can any of you recommend some good stuff to put in the tranny?

The Lucas might have changed the color some. Also, if you did not have the system totally flushed the several quarts left in the lines and torque converter would have mixed with and diluted your fresh fluid.
I used TransX on a toyota tranny once that was sticking and shifting kind of wierd. Within 100 miles after adding it the problem cleared right up and had no trouble ever since.
Keep in mind that if your tranny is slipping you will probably be looking at a rebuild in the very near future. Parts that are already worn out can't be made to last much longer with better fluids. If your fluid smells healthy and it isn't slipping right now, I would leave it like it is; save your money for a rebuild and just keep driving it.

you are probably right. i should leave it alone. it probably will need a rebuild in the near future. but it is fine now. it would be wise.

My poor TH350 makes whining noises when it slows down, so I am going to replace it soon and rebuild my np203. I am however, going to rebuild the old th350 once it is out to keep for a spare. Any tips on what parts to use?
