I have a 86 c10 suburban and the rear end is junk im rebuilding it as i go. I was wondering if anyone knows the width (wms-wms) of the 10b,12, 14b sf and 14b ff for each set of years. I know ill have to move modify spring perches and shock mounts. I know where i can get a 00 chevy 1500 rear end its a 8.6 10b with disc brakes and was wondering how much wider it is. Only thing ive found is that the 88-98 is wider then 73-87 years and the 99-06 is wider then 88-98. I also found out that the 2wd are narrower then the 4x4.

Don't rule out full sized GM Caprice if you can do the welding. I've heard they will work as well.
-
I cant weld but know people that can its just i cant find a rear end for truck thats usable and bolts in
-
I have one if your around Chicagoland, NW Indiana. It is from a 86 C10 I parted out.

You should have a 10b, you can measure, 12 bolt approx 63, 14sf 6 lug 2wd approx 65, 4wd approx 68, 14sf 8lug ?, 14 ff ?

Are those widths for 73-87

What id really like to know is how wide the 88-98 14b sf is both 2wd and 4x4 if anyone has one that they can measure

that would be 65" for 2wd and 68" for 4wd. I have both and have measured them both wms to wms. You will need to move the spring perches to match yours.
You will want the 2wd version.

The 14sf also have 1350 u joints. You will need a conversion u joint and also I believe the 14 sf is about an inch longer at the yoke iirc, so you may or may not run in to drive shaft length trouble.

Ill be getting some measurements of mine. I was thinking about measuring yoke to axle center yesterday as i had almost forgot that itd be different. I know i have two drive shafts but does anyone know if the rear one on rear end is a slip shaft
-
SF also has larger studs on the axles, 14 mm.

-

I checked out a rear end outta a 2000 4x4 1500 and overall width with tires is 75" but was more beat up then mine. I did however find one thatll bolt up. Its a 14b ff outta a 4x4 and hes asking 180. Only thing is hes lil over hour away
-
Come to Mass and I will give you a 10 bolt/6 lug rear end.
-
where in mass and im assuming its prob a 88-98
-
30 minutes south of Boston.
Your right about the years. Its from a 91 full size Blazer.
-
Thatd bolt right up though to bad your 2.5 hours away though
-
Thank you anyway for letting me offer to help.

Did the 73-87 14bsf have 6 lugs or just 8. Cause i know the 88-98 models do but couldnt fjnd anything on these

Semi-float 14 bolts are 8 lug and were under 80's model 3/4 tons.
Are you looking for something specific or just anything that will fit?
That was a very generous offer from Fitz. I'd be inclined to spend the drive time versus searching through salvage yards and advertisements.

I plan on tebuilding truck as i go and might build a 454 with a mild cam and dont know how long a 10b would up. My plan is to make a show/towing truck outta it
-
Only reason i was asking abot the lug pattern is cause i know the 88-98 style have either 6 or 8 lug 14sf and i can get 6 lug conversion rotors for my c10. Unless i find a 454ss rear end cause thats a 14bsf with 5x5 pattern but seeings how rare those are i dont see it happening
