Post by: Boxchevrolet on June 16, 2015, 09:25:35 pm
hello im removing the 350 in my 1983 k10 4wd with a sm465 to put in a 305 i just rebuild because the 350 needs a rebuild, I've taken all the accessories off the engine and the exhaust manifold, carb, distributor, and starter, besides the motor mounts and bell housing bolts , is there anything I'm leaving out, I'm mostly concerned about the clutch and such, also any tips or tricks are gladly welcomed. thank you

Did you remove the fan and water pump? You will have to pull the engine forward a little for the clutch/pressure plate to slide out of the input shaft on the transmission. I would highly recommend you replace the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bushing before installing the new engine.
