Title: Need help finding bucket seats
Post by: alrednek on September 05, 2003, 09:59:00 pm
I just got a 1982 Chevy truck in fairly decent shape except for the seats. The seats that are in the truck look like van bucket seats with some kind of a funky homemade console in the middle. THEY'VE GOTTA GO! I'm just wondering if any of you guys know of a particular make and model of bucket seats that will fit this truck easily. Easily is the key...I've made bucket seats fit in cars that were a pain in the butt to make brackets for and didn't really work well. I want to find buckets that will fit good and not be a major exercise in fabrication to install. I'm wondering if the 1988 and up seats would fit ok. Anyone have any experience with this before?

JC Whitney has some.  If you get the catalog from them, they seem to have more there than the website.

Depends on what you are willing to pay.  I know I have seen some other people selling buckets, but I can't find the links.

Try dropping a late 80's to late 90's caddy split bench in it. You should be able to pull a leather power seat from a wrecking yard for under 100.00 bucks. Then all you need is a power a ground and a few 1/2 inch spacers for the front mounting brackets and you are in business. Not buckets but VERY nice, comfy seats.

When i bought my truck, it had a set of late 90's Pontiac Sunfire bucket seats.  They kinda look like a racing seat but were comfortable and looked nice.  I had to put 3" "C" channel underneith to sit up a little higher, he had them bolted to just the bracket.
