Title: whats the diff

i was wondering what the diference was between a 73 door and an 85 because i need a door for my 85 and have a 73 door but not sure if it would line up right.

As far as I know.......The outside is the same, on the inside 73-76 door shells have a smaller plastic panel than 77-87 doors. So on the inside the door shell is different.

As mentioned they are different on the inside and use different door panels.  The exterior has the same body lines so it will match up.  The 73 door has a different window and crank mechanism than the newer 85 door.  These are not interchangeable.  You will have to use the window that came in the 73.

Yeah the regs are different... Perhaps you could drill a few holes to get the older door to work??

  lists the door panels as 73-76....77-87 don't know what the diff is but hope this helps.....................bob
