Title: How hard is it bolting new seats in?

For the 81 Step I might buy, I can get some leather, power buckets from a 96 Tahoe. The bench seat in the truck is toast. I don't know what the factory bench bracket looks like but is it straightfoward to bolt the Tahoe buckets to it? Is that how new, non-factory seats are put in these things?  I also want to do a custom console so I guess I can't have anything in the middle either. Am I better off to make new holes in the floorpan and forget the factory bracket?

Yes, you are better off making new mounting holes for the Tahoe buckets.  Otherwise you will only have 2 holes per side holding the seat down.  Don't forget to put large washers on there to keep the bolts from pulling through in a possible accident.

Okay, I guess that isn't too big of a deal. Just drilling holes and putting beefy bolts and such in.  And the height of the seats should be okay too without putting in spacers I imagine, eh?
