Installed a set, in my 86 C20. The only problem I have is with the fuel gauge. It never reads correctly. I use the display on the right, to view how much I have. That works perfectly! Any ideas!
Thanks!!

poor connection on the tank side or the sending unit is rubbish

but what display on the right?

Dakota digital has 2 LCD information displays at the bottom of the 2 large gauges. One of the viewable options is a percentage of the amount of fuel left, I believe it's 0% is Empty and 100% is Full.
They get their reference signal from the same source, that being the fuel level sender, so if you know for a fact the percentage display is correct but the needle gauge is wrong all the time, that usually means the instrument cluster is faulty and needs to be replaced.
As with anything mass produced, sometimes you get bad ones, you probably just got one with a faulty fuel gauge. I would call Dakota and ask them what you should do, they will probably just replace it for you if it's that easy.
All of this is only a guess tho that comes from inspecting ALOT of instrument clusters.

this is one of the analog gauges?

The way I understand his concern is, "the system is workings good EXCEPT the fuel GAUGE, the fuel PERCENTAGE on one of the info displays works properly."
The clusters are electric and digital. The gauges use stepper motors.
