K have a 86 c10 suburban and the frame and floors are in real good shape. Im thinking about getting a wire brush to scrap frame with to remove any flaking paint/rust, then using gray rustoleum primer that ill brush on and using the rustoleum bed liner that ill brush/roll on frame and underside of floors. Ill also give it a good washing before painting but id like to know if this would be a good way of preserving it also i live in the rust belt if it helps but truck will be parked during winter.

Also thought about using the rustoleum professional gloss black enamel thats oil based has anyone tried either of these as an undercoating the enamel is 20 bucks cheaper per gallon as well

i used the oil base professional on another truck. but i just coated my 77 c-10 with the rustoleum truck bed coating, which worked much much better. it dries very hard and is textured, best of all you can get it in a spray can to use for touch up work. great price too. 1/2 gal coated my 8 ft bed heavy twice.

My local walmart has the bedliner in a gallon for 43 and the enamel for 23. e used the bedliner before but was wondering how itd do as an undercoating

I use the spray as a little touch up under coating. It actually works well, very tough, better than the rubberized and wont wear off easy from harsh salty winters.
