Title: Move a steering column?
Post by: mrjata on August 13, 2015, 11:05:51 pm
Is there way to move the steering column away from my big belly in an '83 c10 with tilt?  I would love to move it closer to the dash like a normal truck.  Not much room in the cab as is.

When I get time, I am going to look into moving the whole column forward rather than diddle with the seat.  I think I can do more there, well, it looks good in my head right now.

Thanks for the options.

Seems doable
Just need to move the mount  on the column where it bolts to the dash
I don't remember if it is welded or bolted to the Collum

Shortening the shaft under the hood should be pretty easy

The clamp on the firewall shouldn't be an issue
