Title: 1987 Fuel selector valve
Post by: Iowa Fox on August 19, 2015, 11:22:24 pm
Does anone know if Pollak makes a direct part # cross ref for the GM 15548979 fuel tank selector valve. It was a one year production item with GM and their first year for TBFI if I'm thinking correctly? Or is a person better off to just bite the bullet on GM's high replacement part price and go with a GM valve?

Thanks guys

Thanks bd,

Do you know if that duralast is a Pollak or mfgr'd by someone else? Hate to be nit picky but I just want to be sure before I buy something.

Most Duralast stuff is made off shore - much of it by Wells Manufacturing.  But, sometimes OEM parts are repackaged under the Duralast label.  The only way to know is by looking at the brand cast into the body of the part.  I doubt whether AutoZone would know without breaking the package open.  So far, I have had very good service from Duralast parts, which look like OE clones.  Of course, everything is subject to change.

Whats the difference between  GM 15548979  and the older GM 12336290 selector valves? is it higher pressure handling for the injection system?

Pollak 42-302 should work
