I was wondering what dye should be best to use to dye my seatbelts in my 85 . I know they sell new ones but can't afford to pay 350 for new ones

I wouldn't dye them. You can buy some pretty nice aftermarket stuff for like $50 or less now.
-
I have looked and been looking for a while now. I can't find no aftermarket ones for 50.

Yes please, a link would be awesome, mine are all deformed and faded. Thanks Enaberif

They are difficult to dye and the chemicals could degrade the fibers. New belts are the better choice.

I tried to dye mine with spray vinyl/fabric die...it didn't work so I started looking into buying new ones. Most kits that fit the truck run around $250, I did find seat belt planet

3-point retractable are just under $70 per side, they sell a kit for our trucks for $270
-
Wonder if you could buy the belt material and make your own from the old hardware?

Wait, link shows $190 and 32 lbs shipping weight. Am I missing something? Those must be pretty mighty! Would I be able to use these for the rear seats in my Suburban with some parts swapping?
-
ignore the weight, I am changing shopping carts soon and hopefully I won't have to lie to the store to get shipping right..
Is it for the back of a crew cab? If so it should work the same.

I dyed mine black 20 years ago IIRC it was Rit , regular fabric dye. No issues at all with fading or coming off would do it again in a heartbeat.
