Title: Dyeing seat belts ?!
Post by: 85c10stepcustom on August 24, 2015, 02:28:45 pm: I was wondering what dye should be best to use to dye my seatbelts in my 85 . I know they sell new ones but can't afford to pay 350 for new ones

I wouldn't dye them. You can buy some pretty nice aftermarket stuff for like $50 or less now.

3-point retractable are just under $70 per side, they sell a kit for our trucks for $270

Wait, link shows $190 and 32 lbs shipping weight. Am I missing something? Those must be pretty mighty! Would I be able to use these for the rear seats in my Suburban with some parts swapping?

Is it for the back of a crew cab? If so it should work the same.

Post by: 87max on September 13, 2015, 02:36:08 pm: I dyed mine black 20 years ago IIRC it was Rit , regular fabric dye. No issues at all with fading or coming off would do it again in a heartbeat.
