I have a 1979 C20 with 9 rear leafs. I was wanting a smoother ride, so can I remove a few of the leafs? Is that possible? also, will 1/2 ton leaf springs work on my truck?
thanx, mark

What do you use the truck for? If you use it to haul and tow, I would just get a c10 to drive every day. Then I would keep the c20 for the work that needs to be done. You can have a c10 that will alway give more smooth of a ride without losing fuel economy with the c20's gigantic 14bolt rear, 2pc driveshaft, higher numerical gear ratio, and signifigantly higher weight of heavy duty components. With pickup trucks; I think bigger as better when it comes to work. If you care more about smooth ride, I say a C10 would be a good truck for you to own.
Respectfully,
Dave
